Hoosier National Forest spreads across southern Indiana with more than 200,000 acres of public land, and it is adjacent to the property. That gives your group private trail on one side of the fence and a very large piece of public ground on the other.
Indiana's longest footpath runs directly through the property. For hikers that removes the single most annoying part of a trip out here, which is driving to a trailhead every morning.
Most forest lodging sleeps four. This sleeps about twenty across three cabins, with two full kitchens, a bar cabin, a fire pit and enough space that a group does not feel stacked.
Lake Monroe is about thirty minutes out. Brown County State Park and Nashville, Indiana are just north. Bedford, Seymour and Columbus handle supplies.
