The trail runs through the property

Most Knobstone hikers deal with the same two problems: where to sleep and how to shuttle. Basing a group here removes both, because the trail runs directly through the land you are staying on.

What the Knobstone Trail is

Indiana's longest footpath, running through the rugged knobstone escarpment country of southern Indiana. It is the state's most serious hiking terrain, with real elevation change, and it is commonly used as training ground for longer trails.

Why on-trail lodging matters

Section hiking the Knobstone usually means car shuttles, roadside parking and a night in a motel twenty minutes away. When the trail crosses the property you are staying on, a group can hike out, hike back and sleep in a bed with a hot shower and a kitchen.

For a group

Three cabins, thirteen beds, sleeping about twenty. Two full kitchens for real meals instead of freeze-dried, two full baths and a half bath, a fire pit and picnic tables. Three-night minimum, which suits a multi-day section trip well.

Beyond the trail

Hoosier National Forest is adjacent and Lake Monroe is about thirty minutes away. There are also miles of private trail on the property itself for anyone in the group who would rather ride than walk.
